The challenge

Wilson Sons, Brazil’s largest integrated port and maritime logistics operator, was accelerating its digital transformation strategy and needed to integrate Coupa with its SAP ERP.

The company relied heavily on point-to-point integrations and wanted to reduce that dependency with a low-code integration platform. At the same time, the architecture needed to support large volumes of data and ensure high availability for real-time transactions involving suppliers, currency quotes, materials, purchase orders, cost collectors, and other critical procurement data.

The project also required mapping business rules, eliminating legacy redundancies, and working within an aggressive timeline.

The goal

Wilson Sons needed to connect Coupa with SAP while creating a more scalable foundation for future integrations. The project had three primary goals:

• Integrate Coupa with the company’s SAP ERP
• Ensure high data availability for real-time transactions
• Reduce point-to-point integration dependencies

The solution

Digibee connected Wilson Sons’ procurement ecosystem with SAP, supporting workflows for vendor registration, data validation, approval determination, and the exchange of data between SAP and Coupa.

The initial implementation established the foundation for additional workflows involving currency quotes, materials, purchase orders, cost collectors, and other procurement processes.

Digibee’s platform also gave Wilson Sons greater visibility into integration failures and the ability to monitor its Coupa and SAP integrations in one place. Throughout the implementation, Digibee’s team worked closely with Wilson Sons, providing technical support and helping with pipeline development.

The results

The project was completed in under three months, allowing Wilson Sons to recover from an initial delay and get the integration back on schedule despite its complexity.

Within four months of operation, more than 3,250 purchase orders had been integrated. Wilson Sons also achieved real-time processing across its Coupa and SAP transactions, improving procurement efficiency and the end-user experience.

With all Coupa and SAP integrations running through Digibee, the company gained greater visibility into potential failures and established a scalable foundation for additional integration workflows.
