Automobile Manufacturer: Enabled Launch and Evolution of CaaS Platform

An international automaker used Digibee as a strategic integration platform to launch a Car as a Service platform.

2 months

The initial phase to connect systems and endpoints started working in just 2 months

The challenge

This large international automobile manufacturer needed a modern integration strategy to launch a Car as a Service (CaaS) platform, enabling customers to lease/rent vehicles on an annual subscription basis. This model would bundle all fees and maintenance associated with auto ownership.

A centralized platform was needed to integrate internal systems with partners and customers – focusing on versatility and scalability as the service’s ecosystem would continue to evolve and grow.

The main challenge was the large number of systems that needed integration:

  • User portal/application/chatbot
  • Telemetry – IoT and theft protection
  • Financial management
  • Electronic signature technology
  • Anti-fraud protection
  • Fleet management (Warehouse Management System)
  • Credit analysts bureau
  • Sales and CRM stack
  • Insurance
  • Payment system

This collection of frontend and backend systems represents the business unit ecosystem; the integration platform needed to account for new and changing systems – without rebuilding integrations from scratch or adding difficulty in decoupling.

The Objective

  • To be proactive at the start of implementation in building a successful integration architecture – ensuring it’s up and running quickly, and is adaptable to future changes

The plan

To account for each of these systems and endpoints:

  • Digibee scoped out and built 14 pipelines in just 2 months

The Outcome

  • Scalability in architecture and subscription pricing – the company can scale up pipelines as needed and will only pay for the pipelines built (it’s not being changed for future projects, only those in production)
  • Flexibility in reusing pipeline capsules for future change and growth
  • Digibee built the first 14 pipelines as the company's IT team was onboarded

With the success of the integration project and training provided on the platform, the stage was set for self-sufficiency in the next set of integrations and pipeline building (with appropriate support from Digibee’s team).

Digibee’s simple, cost-effective platform required less time and resources, giving this international automotive manufacturer the means to embrace reusability and scalability for other business objectives.
