The Challenge
A large integrated port and maritime logistics operator needed to accelerate their digital transformation strategy by integrating various internal systems, including its purchasing platform, with SAP. The central challenges included:
- Reduce dependencies on point-to-point integrations
- Create an architecture with enough memory to process high volumes of data and transactions in real-time
- Identify and reduce redundancies in their legacy system
- Mapping all the business rules
“Digibee’s Support made all the difference. They answered all our questions and even assisted in the construction of pipelines.”
– IT Developer
The Objective
- Integrate existing legacy systems
- Improve sales purchasing process
- Create an improved end-user experience
- Fast deployment (in less than 4 weeks)
The Plan
The intent was to integrate all the data in their supplier portal into their ERP – SAP – with Digibee’s platform. The flow involved registering suppliers in SAP, validating the data, determining supplier approval, then, once confirmed, resending the data to a third party purchasing platform.
The Outcome
Digibee accelerated the maritime logistics’ digital transformation strategy by integrating various internal systems, including its purchasing platform, with SAP. Based on the success of this integration, other workflows were then developed including, currency quotation, materials, purchase orders, cost collectors, among others.
Despite the project’s aggressive timeline, the project was delivered on schedule, dramatically improving efficiency and end-user experiences in the process. Several results were achieved:
- On schedule deployment
- Completed integration of over 3,250 purchase orders
- Improved efficiency for supplier onboarding
- Delivered a more agile purchasing process
- Greatly improved end-user experience
