Digibee Employee Highlight Series: Fabricio Inocêncio, Head of Education and Documentation

Meet Digibee employees with our Employee Highlight series. Some of the best and brightest are part of the Digibee team (Digibees) and have diverse stories to tell.

Passionate educator, technology enthusiast, metalhead, diversity advocate, musician…meet our dynamic and driven Head of Education and Documentation Fabricio Inocêncio! I’m certain I could’ve talked with Fabricio for hours, but I had to let him get back to his important work helping to make Digibee a better place for our team and customers!

Why Digibee?

Fabricio’s path to Digibee wasn’t exactly direct. He started his career in the music industry (more on that later) and later transitioned to teaching as a college professor. He discovered that he was an educator at heart and needed to find work with an educational purpose. Fabricio’s additional interest in technology informed his decision to find a place where he could make an impact utilizing both technology and education. He knew of Digibee, and saw the platform had the potential to transform the integration space. The opportunity to join the education team offered the perfect alignment of all his goals.

Now, as he approaches a year at Digibee, Fabricio is so happy to be part of the team. He finds it fulfilling to work for a company that values and embraces education, creativity, and innovation.

Life at Digibee

Fabricio loves that Digibee really knows entrepreneurship and as a start-up, he’s afforded the freedom to create, build, and innovate. Fabricio works often with CTO and co-founder, Peter Kreslins, Jr. and said he values that Peter provides so much autonomy, all while ensuring we use practical methodologies and a product-mindset to inform decision-making. Fabricio thrives because he is supported to advocate for education at the strategic level. Unlike many other tech companies, Digibee is pushing education and documentation beyond just being a tactical support area and raising the bar on how to deliver resources differently. Fabricio says, “we are pushing forward on increasing the magnitude of the value we can deliver to the company and our customers.”

The challenge, Fabricio says, is also his favorite thing: questioning and rethinking the industry standard on educational delivery. Unlike many of the industry leaders, Digibee doesn’t require copious years of tech certifications to use our technology. Digibee’s iPaaS is truly an easy to use, low code platform. The goal of our education team isn’t to design a robust certification program, it’s to find the most accessible way to teach developers to solve integration problems using Digibee.

Fabricio says Digibee isn’t focused on the users having to master the tool, they want to empower users to leverage the tool to solve their daily challenges. What we teach is “just in time, instead of just in case.” Meaning, instead of requiring complex understanding of every aspect of the platform (that users may never end up needing), we teach users how to use the platform to solve business problems quickly to accomplish a task, and then move on to the next thing. With technology always changing so rapidly, understanding the logic of the tool also gives the user the advantage of flexibility as the platform continues to evolve. Fabricio says that “education isn’t the end, it’s the means. We believe that product training is a barrier to product adoption, so we aim to provide a training experience and a learning model that is as frictionless as possible.”

The Future Ahead

Fabricio seemed particularly enthusiastic about the topic of Digibee’s future, because, in his words, the “ceiling is so high.” Fabricio is certain Digibee can and will significantly impact the tech industry globally and he is eager to continue growing alongside the company. Fabricio is also ambitious and as an educator himself, he is passionate about continuous learning and self-development. At Digibee, he is certain there will not only always be a range of opportunities for growth in his career and developing his skills, but that growth is supported and encouraged.

It goes without saying that AI is a hot topic right now. Many people in the tech space are looking for ways to leverage AI to improve services, products, and technology. Fabricio knows AI is much more than a trend, and is excited about utilizing AI to improve our platform and our delivery of resources for our customers. He feels AI will push humans to increase their cognitive contribution and creativity, and can be used to improve the learning experience. Fabricio’s team is actively testing AI models to assist users with search and provide fast and accurate answers in our learning content and documentation.

Balancing Work & Life at Digibee

Growing up a metalhead and rock aficionado in the “land of samba,” Fabricio definitely felt like an outsider. His identity was closely linked to his musical taste and he found he was treated differently by not adhering to the mainstream samba culture. Even within the rock culture, he saw the effect of not respecting differences in identity, social status, race, etc. But that experience has afforded Fabricio a lot of reflection. “I have learned to respect others by minimizing any prior judgment or bias and truly getting to know them.” As a manager, Fabricio sees how he can apply that understanding to creating inclusive workspaces and cultivating good relationships with his coworkers. He is grateful for the meaningful discussions on diversity and differences that Digibee supports. Fabricio believes it is crucial to team collaboration to provide an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and accepted. We had a really beautiful discussion on this topic and I was grateful Fabricio was so willing to share with me.

I promised to come back to this and here we are; Fabricio started his professional career in the music industry. First as a metal/rock guitarist and vocalist (which is very cool), then turning to recording and producing music (which is even cooler), which led to teaching audio production. And as we now know, eventually that brought him to Digibee! What was once a career, is now his hobby. He still plays the guitar and composes songs with his former bandmates. During the height of the pandemic, they utilized their skills to create online music performances, recording parts separately and then mixing them all together for the final video.

Fabricio and his wife Dafne are also kept quite busy with their energetic three year old daughter, Chloe. Chloe has inherited her father’s passion for music, and loves hearing her dad sing and play guitar for her. She has been musical from the beginning and loves to sing herself.
