An organic food aficionado, cinephile, mountain-biker, dedicated father, travel-buff, and one of our earliest Digibee devotees (that rhymes!). Meet our energetic and extremely versatile Partner Account Manager, Thiago Libanore. Learn how Thiago was a foundational part of Digibee’s story and his future plans.Thiago-Libanore-Mountain-biking

Why Digibee?

Thiago’s journey to Digibee is unique in that he was actually the company’s first customer. After working in marketing in the entertainment industry for a decade, he decided to shift his focus to his passion for organic foods. Starting a family business centered around an organic marketplace, Thiago was connected with Digibee’s co-founders through his legal partners to develop the necessary technology. He had the privilege of witnessing the founders’ ingenious creation of systems, methodologies, and integrations, marveling at their skills, agility, and knowledge from the beginning.

As Thiago’s family opened stores and established their organic marketplace, his friendship with one of Digibee’s co-founders, Vitor Sousa grew. Thiago said they didn’t have the necessary focus and eventually decided to step away from the business. In 2018, Digibee secured its first investment. With Vitor’s confidence in his potential, Thiago was approached to join Digibee’s team. Thiago took a risk, armed with a strong belief in the founding team and their vision. Now, he believes he was in the right place at the right time and that he chose Digibee as much as Digibee chose him.

Throughout his almost 6 year tenure at Digibee, Thiago has embraced leaving his comfort zone to find purpose and help build something meaningful. He has filled various roles, navigating from sales and marketing, to establishing a BDR team, delving into cloud marketplaces, and now focusing on partnerships. Thiago also emphasized how influential the strong mentorships at Digibee have been in his professional career. Learning from such skilled and experienced people helped him continuously grow and inspires him to keep achieving.

Life at Digibee

Thiago’s newest mission is to enhance the relevance of our partner program. He excels in communication and relationship-building with both our internal teams and external partnerships. While Digibee initially grew through direct sales, Thiago sees incredible potential to share our innovative platform and provide even more value globally through our partnerships. Digibee has proven its value time and again (see our case studies), but faces the challenge of gaining recognition in the crowded US market with established players. Thiago asserts that to disseminate Digibee’s unique differentiators and become the leading choice for integration, we need to leverage both our direct sales and our partnerships.

Digibee can solve even the most complex integration problems, quickly, securely, and in a cost-effective way. Thiago wants to see us achieve true scalability and provide our services all over the world. To that end, Thiago is also actively focusing on strategies to understand and increase our presence in the cloud marketplace.

I really enjoyed discussing Digibee’s distinct culture with Thiago. He emphasized its openness, honesty, and friendliness. We both commented on how refreshing it is working for a company that encourages candid communication, values employee well-being, and works to understand their workforce’s challenges. Thiago talked again about mentorships, in particular, aligning our experienced professionals with younger talent to drive continuous advancement and innovation. Even as Digibee grows, staying connected and keeping a “small team vibe” persists. I particularly loved this quote, Thiago said “we are flexible and dynamic, customer-centric, and always focused on providing the best product to our customers. That means staying on top of options and technology. Even as we move out of being a start-up, we remain true to our values, while we keep shifting and adapting.”

At its early stage, Digibee is continually evolving to adapt to the needs of the integration market. Thiago’s adaptability, stemming from his upbringing and early work experience, has proved to be vital in this evolving environment. He’s naturally curious, self-motivated to learn, absorbs new skills quickly, and seeks opportunities that challenge him. This has served him well as he has navigated through his various roles and seen the small company he started at grow exponentially in the past six years.

The Future Ahead

Thiago is excited for the future evolution of Digibee. He believes continuing to rely on his adaptability will be essential. Digibee’s commitment to growth and innovation aligns with his vision of providing the best platform to our customers. With that, Thiago sees constant opportunity for his own professional growth along the way. He now sees himself as a leader, a role he hadn’t considered before. His experience has spanned problem-solving, process establishment, customer interactions, team and relationship building. He’s proud he’s managed to fit wherever Digibee needed him and he’s open to whatever may be next.

As an investor, he’s also fully committed to seeing Digibee’s potential realized as a truly global company. He’d love to live abroad, to serve Digibee while experiencing new cultures and locations with his family. He believes Digibee can leverage the knowledge and experiences of the original team (the “OG” if you will!) to share and mentor local teams in different regions to keep the company growing.

Balancing Work & Life at Digibee

Initially, Thiago was part of a small, close-knit team at Digibee. Based in the Brazilian start-up hub, Cubo, the team often put in extended hours. After transitioning to remote work due to the pandemic and becoming a parent, Thiago has adjusted his priorities. He values balancing his professional and personal life and is grateful for the flexibility of remote work and Digibee’s supportive culture.

Despite leaving the entertainment industry, Thiago’s passion for film remains a constant in his life. Growing up, he aspired to be a filmmaker, he joked he was “a very different teenager. I would stay up all night watching movies.” At his previous role with Fox, watching movies was part of the job, the office even had its own theater for screenings. Of course as a new parent, free time is a bit limited, but Thiago still finds moments to indulge in films, follow box office news, and stay connected to the art form he adores.

As you now know from Thiago’s foundations with Digibee, he’s passionate about organic foods and the benefits of organic farming for our health and the environment. His family has a 40-acre farm (which he described as small!). As a vegan myself who buys organic whenever possible, I loved discussing this particular passion with Thiago. (If I ever get to Brazil, he’s on the hook for showing me all the best organic/vegan places to eat!)

Thiago’s other interests include mountain biking and travel. He especially loves traveling with his family and broadening his exposure to the diversity of the world. He’s also grateful he has remained close with many college friends. They function like an extended family, organizing events to keep their bond strong and connect their growing families.
